Title:SLIC: Secondary Level Interdisciplinary Curriculum

Description:The food safety part of this curriculum is suitable for teaching in the disciplines of biology, microbiology, American history and environmental science. Lessons include E. coli in undercooked hamburger, toxins and pesticides in our food supply, and the historic and future role of the government, the manufacturer and the consumer in ensuring a safe food supply. Other lessons in the SLIC curriculum focus on nutrition, disordered eating, alternative eating and physical activity.
